ANNUAL SESSION, 09/07/1824

Meeting held at Boston (Ch1-268):

Grand Chapter opened.

  • The report of the committee of Finance was read and accepted.
  • The committee on regalia reported progress.
  • The committee on revision of the Grand Constitutions reported progress.

The meeting elected the officers for the Grand Royal Arch Chapter for the ensuing year, with M. E. Paul Dean unanimously re-elected Grand High Priest, and other officers elected and appointed as noted on Pages ChI-270 and ChI-271.

STATED MEETING, 12/07/1824

Held at Mason's Hall, Boston (ChI-275):

Grand Chapter opened.

  • The committee on the Grand Constitutions reported progress.
  • The committee on regalia reported that they had completed their work and procured suitable articles, and was discharged.
  • A petition for a Chapter in Sutton was presented and referred to Committee.
  • A committee was formed "to ascertain the interest and privilege which this Grand Chapter may have in the Masonic Hall in the city of Boston."

Rising Sun Chapter petitioned to surrender its charter; a "memorial" against this petition was also presented. A committee reporting on the "difficulties" was authorized "to take all necessary steps to inquire and ascertain" and report in future.

The meeting was adjourned to 12/14/1824, and reopened.

  • A representative from the Grand Chapter was designated to investigate the petition for a Chapter at Sutton. A report was returned, indicating that Worcester Chapter objected to the creation of the Chapter. The committee reported indicating that "the Grand Chapter cannot with propriety, at present, proceed further on the foregoing petition."
  • A warrant was granted for a Chapter at Medway to be called Mount Lebanon Chapter.
  • A petition for a Chapter at Brookfield was presented.
  • The committee on the Boston Masonic Hall reported progress.
  • A committee was appointed to repair to Nantucket to return the charter and regalia of Rising Sun Chapter.

STATED MEETING, 06/07/1825

Held at Mason's Hall, Boston (ChI-281):

Grand Chapter opened.

  • A petition for a Chapter in Chelmsford was presented, but lacked recommendations; it was allowed to "subside for the moment."
  • A petition from Adoniram Chapter to remove to Taunton was presented and approved.
  • The report of the committee on the Grand Constitutions was presented, but it was voted to consider it at the next annual communication.
  • A warrant was granted to Brookfield Chapter in Brookfield, dated 02/25/1825, and continued one year from that date.

SPECIAL MEETING AT WORCESTER, 10/21/1824

Held in Worcester (ChI-273):

The Grand Chapter consecrated Worcester Chapter and installed its officers.

SPECIAL MEETING AT MEDWAY, 06/24/1825

Held in Medway (ChI-273):

The Grand Chapter consecrated Mount Lebanon Chapter and installed its officers.
