  • 1963-154: Report on Cuba:

"According to the latest information we have received from Cuba the Grand Lodge of Masons in Cuba is still working. The Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Cuba was held on March 24, 1963, and 288 Lodges were represented. Grand Lodge officers were elected for the ensuing year, a list of which is in our possession. We have seen monthly statements sent to constituent Lodges from the Grand Lodge, including financial and membership statistics. Other information has reached us indirectly that indicate that the Lodges are working.

"One of the constituent Lodges of the Grand Lodge of Cuba is Caribbean Naval Lodge at Guantanamo Base. This Lodge was suspended by the Grand Lodge of Cuba in Exile which claims jurisdiction over all Cuban Lodges. The result is that the members of Caribbean Naval Lodge who are all Americans are confused and frustrated as to their status with the Grand Lodges of the United States. Because there has been no change in the relations between the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts and the Grand Lodge of Cuba in Cuba we would reaffirm the fact that we welcome as visitors to our Lodges all members of the constituent Lodges of the Grand Lodge of Cuba who can verify their membership."
