Grand Constitutions Amendment Proposals

  • 06/10: 1936-126: Amendments to the following sections of the Grand Constitutions were proposed and referred:
    • Section 209, regarding conditions for suspension.
      • 09/09: 1936-166; Committee believed that the amendment was neither "necessary or desireable" and was not recommended.
    • Section 323, regarding jurisdictions.
      • 09/09: 1936-166; Committee recommended its adoption, giving "statutory sanction to an established practise and will eliminate all doubts in future questions of a like character."
    • Section 416, regarding rejections.
      • 09/09: 1936-167; the amendment "purports to place a limitation upon the powers of other Grand Jurisdictions to fix their own residential qualifications" and that the amendment corrects that, restricting it to Massachusetts only; recommended for adoption.
    • Section 512, regarding admission of a stenographer at a Masonic trial.
      • 09/09: 1936-168; recommended.
    • Section 521, regarding restoration to membership, pursuant to the explanation in the Grand Master's Address.
