From Moore's Freemason's Monthly, Vol. XX, No. 9, June 1861:
A Dispensation was granted on the 7th ultimo, for a Lodge in the Third Regiment Massachusetts Volunteers, stationed at Fort Monroe, Virginia. The officers named in the Dispensation are W. Brother Timothy Ingraham, Master; Brother A. S. Cushman, S. W.; Brother Wm. A. Sewell, J. W. ; all of New Bedford. Brother Ingraham holds the rank of Captain in the service, and is a Past Master of great experience.
