REGULAR SESSIONS
ANNUAL SESSION, 09/08/1857
Meeting held at Boston (Ch1-718):
Grand Chapter opened.
A petition for charter for Orient Chapter, U. D., in Hyannis was granted.
The Grand Chapter approved a revision the 5th Article of the General Regulations.
A committee was appointed to draft a memorial for R. E. Elias Haskell, Past Deputy Grand High Priest.
The Grand Secretary was directed to correspond with Sutton Chapter, which had not made returns for three years.
- Report by the Grand High Priest regarding visits.
- Finances.
The meeting elected the officers for the Grand Royal Arch Chapter for the ensuing year. The Grand High Priest and Deputy Grand High Priest declined re-election. Accordingly, R. E. Wendell T. Davis was elected Grand High Priest; other officers elected and appointed as noted on Pages ChI-722 and ChI-723.

STATED MEETING, 12/08/1857
Held at Mason's Hall, Boston (ChI-725):
Grand Chapter opened.
The Grand Secretary reported that Sutton Chapter had made its return.
R. E. John R. Bradford declined election as Deputy Grand High Priest, and Companion Tracy P. Cheever was elected in his place.
The Grand High Priest commissioned Companion Stephen Lovell to proceed to Hyannis to consecrate Orient Chapter. Documentation of the committee appointed to examine records and work of the Chapter appear on Pages ChI-727 through ChI-729.
A petition from former members of King Hiram's Chapter, Greenwich, to reorganize and restore their charter; after discussion, the petitioners were given leave to withdraw their petition.
The Memorial for Comp. Elias Haskell was presented.
Installation of officers.
A proposition was placed before the Grand Chapter: "That the Subordinate Chapters under the jurisdiction of this Grand Chapter may dispense with the use of all the regalia now used in conferring the Royal Arch degree, except jewels, aprons and swords." Referred to committee.
A charter was granted to Pentucket Chapter, Haverhill.

Grand Chapter opened.

- Report on the consecration of Pentucket Chapter, Haverhill.
A report was presented on the use of regalia in subordinate Chapters, and the following resolution was adopted: "The Subordinate Chapters may, if they choose to do, dispense with the use of all the regalia now used in conferring the Royal Arch degree except jewels, aprons and swords."
- Report on Finance.
- Reports by the Grand Secretary, including information on a Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Canada.
- Report by committee on recommendations for investment of Grand Chapter funds, and the election of trustees to manage them.
STATED MEETING, 06/08/1858
Held at Mason's Hall, Boston (ChI-738):
Grand Chapter opened.
Report on the transfer of funds to the charge of the charitable trustees.
A petition from companions in Fall River to organize a Chapter was received, and the Grand Chapter voted that a dispensation would be granted "whenever the Grand High Priest shall be satisfied that the Grand Regulations have been complied with."
A committee was appointed to "frame an additional Article to the Regulations" relative to the Trustees of the charitable funds.
A report was given on the "so-called" Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Canada; the Grand Chapter refused recognition.
A committee was appointed to take charge of the regalia and furniture of the Grand Chapter.
