REGULAR SESSIONS
ANNUAL SESSION, 09/09/1840
Meeting held at Boston (Ch1-472):
Grand Chapter opened.
- Concord Chapter reported the surrender of all of its effects.
- King Cyrus Chapter reported to be in "a wretched condition, their charter lost, their meetings discontinued, and not enough of Masonic vitality to warrant a hope that it would ever be resuscitated." It was recommended that its charter be revoked.
- Adoniram Chapter reported "signs of life and, with a little attention, bmay be revived."
- Sutton Chapter reported willingness to resume work, and the committee recommended further time be given.
- The charters for Washington and King Solomon's Chapters had been requested, but had not been obtained.
- The committee on revision of the by-laws regarding funds of Chapters with revoked charters reported at length; this appears on Pages ChI-475 through ChI-477.
- Correspondence was reported regarding the former Chapter in Nantucket.
- Finance.
- The Committee appointed on By-Laws recommended changes to the 13th Article, regarding terms of revocation of charters.
The meeting elected the officers for the Grand Royal Arch Chapter for the ensuing year, with R. E. John B. Hammatt elected Grand High Priest; other officers elected and appointed as noted on Pages ChI-480 and ChI-481.

Grand Chapter opened.
- A letter from Comp. William Woart of Newburyport was received and read.
- Voted to attend the next meeting of the General Grand Chapter.
- An inventory report on regalia was presented.
