ANNUAL SESSION, 09/13/1808

Meeting held at Mason's Hall, Boston (ChI-59):

The Grand Chapter opened.

Grand Chapter voted as follows:

  • To permit King Solomon's Chapter to retain its charter.
  • A committee of Companions to investigate "the proceedings of sundry spurious Royal Arch Masons at Roxbury reported; a list of persons admitted by these activities was to be distributed to all Chapters to prevent "Masonic communications" with them.
  • To review the accounts of Treasurer and Secretary and fix their compensation.

The meeting elected the following officers for the Grand Royal Arch Chapter for the ensuing year:

STATED MEETING, 12/13/1808

Held at Mason's Hall, Boston (ChI-62):

The Grand Chapter opened.

Robert Lash, Jr. declined to serve as steward, and Companion Josiah Calef was appointed in his place. Benjamin Russell resigned as Deputy Grand High Priest and was replaced by Henry Fowle.

The Grand Chapter voted:

  • To suspend reports on By-Laws and Diplomas.
  • To appoint a Committee of Companions Fowle, Sigourney and Purkitt to meet with King Solomon's Chapter.

STATED MEETING, 06/13/1809

The Grand Chapter opened.

A petition for a charter for a Chapter in Roxbury was read "but being informal was not acted upon."

The By-Laws Committee reported, "which was not acted upon by reason of the thin attendance of the members."
