== GRAND MASTER'S AWARD ==

=== INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS ===

Within thirty days of the Installation of Officers, a letter signed by the Worshipful Master and both Wardens signifying the intention of that Lodge and its Officers to participate in the Grand Master's Award Program must be presented to the District Deputy Grand Master of that District. At the same time, the Worshipful Master must present a formal plan for the year detailing his intentions and those of his officers for each meeting, special program, social event, and goal.

On the following pages are listed ten requirements and ten optional endeavors which will be considered in the conferring of the Grand Master's Award. Of those considered optional, at least six must be accomplished. The District Deputy Grand Master will be required to certify for each of the categories with whatever assistance he may need.

This Award will be concurrent with the Master's term in office. Every exception will be adjudicated by the Grand Master after consultation with the District Deputy Grand Master.

==== Required Categories ====

''I. Lodge of Instruction Attendance''

The Attendance of the eight line officers, Worshipful Master, Senior and Junior Wardens, Senior and Junior Deacon„ Senior and Junior Stewards, and Inside Sentinel shall exceed 65% for the year in total. Making up a meeting at another Lodge of Instruction shall be included and counted as though attending his own.

''II.  Visitation of the District Deputy Grand Master''

Of the three Senior Officers, Worshipful Master, Senior and Junior Wardens, two must attend every Official and scheduled Fraternal Visit within the District.

''III. Exemplifications''

The Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Treasurer, Secretary, Marshal, Chaplain, Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, Senior Steward, Junior Steward, Inside Sentinel, Tyler, and Ritualist are required to attend. When a Master Mason Degree is to be exemplified, at least three Gate Men must additionally be present. The District Deputy Grand Master may excuse up to four of the above with good and sufficient reason.

''IV. Quarterly Communications of Grand Lodge''

The Lodge must be represented by the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, or Proxy at each and every Quarterly Communication, and each must attend at least one.

''V. Pilgrimage to the Masonic Home''

Describe in detail your Lodge's Pilgrimage to the Masonic Home in Charlton, the plans made in preparation therefore, any program planned for the residents there, and those participating. This must occur on other than the Grand Master's Day at the Home.

'''VI. Blood Program'''

Your Lodge must increase its prior year's donation by at least 10% or achieve donations of blood totaling at least 100% of its Membership. In no case can the number of donations be less than ten percent of its Membership as of September 1

''VII. Program to Avoid Suspensions and Demits''

Describe in detail your Lodge's Program to avoid suspensions for non-payment of dues and Demits. In each instance where a Suspension or Demit has occurred, explain fully.

''VIII. DeMolay or Rainbow Support''

This may be support of either organizations and may be in the form of adult leadership, sponsorship of a Chapter, scholarship contribution, leadership conference participation, Conclave involvement, or other active service to these young people. Describe in full.

''IX. Religious Service Participation''

Plan and participate in a Service of Worship by opening Lodge, processing in regalia and participating in said service as a Lodge, or as part of District-wide service.

''X. Grand Lodge Requirements Fulfilled''

In addition to the above assure that all Grand Lodge requirements have been fulfilled including dues payments, filing of required forms and reports, including but not limited to attendance of a Warden or Senior Deacon at Warden's Workshops, GLD Form, Membership Lists, distribution of Newsletters, all on time.

==== Optional Requirements ====
(A Minimum of Six are Required)

''I. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Program''

Describe in detail your C.P.R. Program and list participants and activities.

''II. Lodge of Qualification Participation''

Describe participation in District Lodge of Qualification or Exemplification in due form by Past Masters of your Lodge using Grand Lodge Ritual.

''III. Mason Non-Mason Program''

Describe your Lodge's participation in a program designed to educate and entertain a non-Mason.

''IV. Widow's Program''

Describe in full the program which your Lodge has developed to maintain contact and serve the widows of deceased Members of your Lodge.

''V. Attendance at Feast of Saint John''

At least two Officers or Members attend, not to include incoming, outgoing Officers or Permanent Members of Grand Lodge.

''VI. Community Service Program''

A program designed to serve the Community and its citizens in the name of Freemasonry. Describe in full.

''VII. Family Social Function''

Hold a function for the Members of the Masonic Family, such as a Ladies Night, Father-Son Night, Family Night, Holiday Party, Family Picnic, Field Day, or other function designed for the Family.

''VIII. Service Committee Activity''

Describe a program in detail and the success of it pertaining to your Service Committee, Transportation Committee, Telephone Committee, Hospital Committee, Visitation Committee, Hospital Equipment Loan Program, or other service.

''IX. Intervisitation''

Describe in detail your participation in an intervisitation with another Lodge within or outside your District, within or outside of this Jurisdiction.

''X. Temple Building Improvement Program''

Describe in detail your part in a concerted effort toward the improvement of the Building.


At the conclusion of the Master's term, a complete report must be presented to the District Deputy Grand Master signed by the Worshipful Master and Wardens reporting on each of the requirements. The District Deputy Grand Master will judge and comment on the report, and submit his recommendations and report to the Grand Master for his action. The Worshipful Master, Wardens and/or District Deputy Grand Master should be prepared to meet with the Grand Master should it be required.

A consideration in the awarding of this honor will be the achievement of the program as the Worshipful Master proposed it at the beginning of his year.
Consideration will also be given to additional programs and endeavors of a Lodge beyond those spelled out in these requirements. Your District Deputy Grand Master and Grand Lodge Officers stand ready to assist you in your attempts to fulfill these requirements.
